Judge Denies Motion to Release Slain Officer’s Personal Belongings

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The wife of slain Corrections Officer Ronald Johnson appeared in Minnehaha County court on Wednesday, to ask the judge for some of her husband’s personal belongings.

Lynette Johnson is the wife of former Correctional Officer Ronald Johnson. Johnson was killed while on duty in 2011 by penitentiary inmates Rodney Berget and Eric Robert.

Johnson’s widow asked the judge to release her husband’s prison uniform and other belongings.

However, Judge Bradley Zell denied the motion. He says the items are still considered evidence, since Berget’s case is still ongoing.
