Cats Over Capacity, Foster Parents and Adopters Needed

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- It’s kitten season and many animal rescue centers say they are overwhelmed by the amount of cats they are receiving.

The All Cats Rescue organization is full, and can not take any more animals. They even have cats on a waitlist. For the next several weekends the rescue will be at different PetSmart stores around Sioux Falls. They’ll have kittens available for meet and greets. People are encouraged to stop by and consider adopting. Organizers say summer is all always a busy time, but this year has been more hectic than usual.

“This years been really bad with kittens it seems like we’ve had a lot in batches of eight nine or ten. It’s been many at one time which is unusual,” said Ellen Bjordahl, President of All Cats Rescue.

The rescue is also looking for foster families, so they can help more kittens. Foster families are provided all supplies and essentials such as cat litter or food. The cats just need somewhere to stay for the time being.
