Sanford Health, Good Samaritan Merger Gets Regulatory Approval

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The merger between a major health organization and a senior care provider will happen sooner than expected.

Sanford Health officials say they have received regulatory approval to combine with the Good Samaritan Society. The merger was expected to be finalized by the end of January 2019.

However, Sanford officials say the two non-profits will now join on November 1st. When those changed take place, Good Samaritan will be known as Good Samaritan of Sanford Health.

Combined, the two non-profits employ nearly 11,000 people in the Sioux Falls area, and 47,000 nationwide.
