SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sioux Falls Police are investigating the shooting death of a 21-year-old Sioux Falls resident after what police say was a reckless discharge of a firearm.

Police say they received the call at around 9:15 p.m. on Monday. Police say based on the investigation, the victim, 21-year-old Darius Jae Tiger, went over 18-year-old Stasek Alexander Stenfanuk residence near North Galaxy Lane and Cushman Street.

Police say Stenfanuk was showing Tiger a shotgun he had just acquired when the firearm discharged, striking Tiger in the upper back.  Family members in the residence called police shortly after the discharge.

Police say life saving efforts were made upon arriving on scene, but say Tiger had died from his injuries on scene. During a search of the residence, police found a small amount of concentrated THC.
