KDLT Cares: Washington Pavilion Introduces Mascot Radley Rex

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – There’s a new staff member at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls who’s quite a character.

This is Radley Rex, the new dinosaur mascot of the organization. Radley’s job is to educate and entertain through arts and science. Radley Rex will be part of weekly programming at the Kirby Science Discovery Center and the Visual Arts Center.

The mascot will also be on hand at some of the Pavilion’s special events with a Radley Rex coloring book at each public appearance.

“Most of the kids seem to warm up to him quickly. He’s a very friendly looking character, maybe not as scary looking as the stand fossil, but yeah, they seem to be taking to him really well,” said Director of Marketing Relations, Rebecca Sevening.

Radley Rex will be a the Washington Pavilion’s 55th Sidewalk Arts Festival this Saturday. You can meet Radley and take photos during different sessions at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
