Yankton Police Looking for Suspect Who Vandalized Sculpture

YANKTON, S.D. – Police in Yankton are looking for whoever vandalized a 1,400 pound sculpture.

The vandalism was reported just after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Police say the walleye statue at Riverside Park broke after it was pushed over. The base of the stone statue weighed about 1,000 pounds and the walleye portion weighed about 400 pounds.

Therefore police believe whoever pushed it over, didn’t do it alone. The sculptor says the statue will not be able to be fixed/.
