Simmons Stars In South Dakota’s Season Opening Win

Third Best Passing Game In USD History Leads To 43-28 Win Over Northern Colorado

VERMILLION, S.D.  —  Austin Simmons showed that he was more than capable of filling Chris Streveler’s big shoes.

Against Northern Colorado the junior quarterback had the third best passing game in Coyote history, throwing for 462 yards and four touchdowns.  Simmons also ran for 80 yards and a score to lead the 23rd ranked Yotes to a 43-28 win, looking much more comfortable in his second game as the main man under center.

USD visits 10th ranked Weber State next Saturday at 7 PM.
