Morgan Kwasniewski is Deuel Threat for Cardinal Gymnastics

BROOKINGS, SD…It’s hard to believe now when you watch Morgan Kwasniewski that she wasn’t that coordinated growing up.

“Honestly I couldn’t really catch balls or anything when I was younger so I had to find a different sport!” Deuel Junior Morgan Kwasniewski says.

Even then Morgan’s transition to gymnastics wasn’t easy

“Yeah I’ve had to work probably a little bit harder. Skills don’t really come super naturally to me.” Kwasniewski says.

Fortunately she good role models in Deuel, growing up watching and getting to know former state champion and current Iowa State gymnast Meaghan Sievers.

“We actually used to car pool up with them up to Watertown when we were younger so we know them pretty well. They were so confident and just fun to watch. And we really like to watch them on the TV and talk to them.” Morgan says.

Now the junior is making her own mark on Cardinal gymnastics.

“She’s just a hard worker. She really is. She has a great heart for gymnastics, she has a great heart for her team. I mean you couldn’t ask for a better gymnast to coach.” Deuel Gymnastics Head Coach Says.

Winning consecutive individual all-around championships and leading Deuel to back-to-back team titles.

“It was really great! I don’t even know how to describe the feeling, I was really happy. Of course you always think about the next year after this, but you have your title.” Kwasniewski says.

All with more year to work her way back to the top for a three-peat.
