Fit Chic: Benefits of Celery Based Diets
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – There are so many fads and trends when it comes to finding the right diet for you.
Whether it’s keto, paleo, or intermittent fasting, it always seems like someone is trying something.
A popular diet for many right now is a celery based diet. Annie ‘fit chic’ Mello stopped in to talk about the benefits of eating celery, and lots of it.
One of the main reasons celery is so good for you, is because of it’s healing and inflammatory properties. There’s also virtually no calories. “It helps heal your gut lining. It also has a lot of potassium, vitamin k, vitamin b, along with many other things as it’s a vegetable with minerals and nutrients. They say the amount that you do chewing burns the calories a celery stick actually has,” said Mello.
Mello brought in various celery-themed dishes. The first being celery juice. “This is super trendy right now. It’s just celery, water, and actually I added in a little apple. You can just take this and grab-and-go,” says Mello. The CPM Fitness Co-Owner also recommends drinking the mixture right away in the morning, helping to cleanse you and help to avoid bloating.
Second, Mello brought in the most popular celery snack, ‘Ants on a log.’ “This is great, you just cut up celery, and I just used little raisins. You can use almond butter, cashew butter, anything fun. You could do chocolate chips if you wanted to make it more of a dessert type of snack,” said Mello.
Lastly, Annie brought in a cleansing celery soup, great for the colder spring days. The soup is quick, easy, and great for you according to Mello, “It’s so easy, it’s just celery, olive oil, onion, and a little bit of coconut milk. I threw in some cauliflower too, just to make it a little heartier.”
