Sioux Falls Business Helps People Cross Tasks off their To-do List

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-The small tasks in life can start to pile up, so one Sioux Fall business wants to help folks cross them off their to-do list.

It’s never a boring day for Chad Lee. Currently he is working on refurbishing outdoor patio furniture.

“We’re just going to get all this old paint stripped off and we’re going to get them cleaned up real nice and we’re going to get them repainted and they’ll look nice in their yard again,” said Lee.

This is one of the many jobs Lee offers to do through his business: The Neighbor Kid.

“People ask what we do and I say ‘yeah.’ I mean that’s really what it is,” said Lee.

He’s done everything from yard work, to putting together a bunk bed to organizing someone’s garage.

“No day is the same,” said Lee.

Any small task you can think of, Lee wants to help you complete it.

“You’ve got so many pros that specialize in so many areas, but what about these little, tiny, small things, these mundane things that need to be done?,” said Lee.

The name,”The Neighbor Kid” came about after Lee and his wife thought about his mother in North Dakota who lives alone.

“Who would do something like this for her and just off the top of my head I said ‘ Well I don’t know. She’ll call some neighbor kid or something’ and there it went,” said Lee.

Lee was tired of his desk job so he started the business last May.

“What I use to do for a hobby was work with my hands a lot and do different projects and one day we decided, you know that there is actually a market for this kind of business, so we just kind of took the leap and went after it, said Lee.

He enjoys the variety and getting to meet new people.

“It’s a lot of fun working with the customers and clients and seeing them happy when it’s done,” said Lee.

His clients are men and women who don’t have the time, the tools or the patience to the elderly and even busy business owners.

“Pretty much anybody, you’d be surprised,” said Lee.

His goal is to make people’s lives easier and help out his fellow neighbors in and around Sioux Falls.
