SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Sioux Falls Police Department is sending six officers to Pennington County to help with the search for missing 9-year-old Serenity Dennard.

Authorities say Serenity ran away from the Black Hills Children’s Home on February 3rd. Numerous searches have been conducted since then, including one over the weekend.

The search changed from a rescue to a recovery effort not long after she went missing. Authorities say Serenity likely wouldn’t have survived if she was outside in subzero temperatures.

Sioux Falls Police will help with another search on Wednesday.
