Attempted Murder Suspect Rams Yankton Police Squad Car

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) – Yankton police say a man wanted for attempted murder in Nebraska rammed an officer’s squad car during a traffic stop.

Authorities say 44-year-old Kevin Haug was driving a stolen U-Haul truck Tuesday night, hit the squad and fled across the bridge to Nebraska. Yankton police pursued the Haug into Nebraska until the State Patrol and Cedar County sheriff’s deputies joined the pursuit and took him into custody.

Police say no Yankton officers were injured. Haug was wanted on several charges after he allegedly attacked another man with a knife in Cedar County, Nebraska.
