Search for Man, Possibly Armed, Triggers Lockdowns

PARKSTON, S.D. – Authorities say multiple lockdowns in Parkston this morning were merely a precaution.

Authorities responded to a domestic call around 1 a.m. Friday, that turned out to be a fight between two exes. Authorities say the man ran away and the woman said he could be armed and dangerous.

Police locked down the Avera St. Benedict health center and eventually the school district.

Mitchell police found the man around 7 a.m. and was deemed not a threat to the public.
