Mount Marty Volleyball Names New Head Coach

The Mount Marty College volleyball program is announcing today the program’s new head coach is Frank Hebenstreit. Hebenstreit will take over the reins from Candice Climer whose resignation is effective May 31, 2015.

Augustana Sweeps Winona State

The Augustana baseball team used some solid hitting at the plate en route to two wins on Wednesday against Winona State at Karras Park Home of Ronken Field. The Vikings improved to 21-12 (12-6 NSIC) on the year, while the Warriors dropped to 14-20 (12-10 NSIC) with the losses.

USD Falls to #13 Minnesota

Minnesota designated player Sara Groenewegen hit a three-run home run to help lead the 13th-ranked Gophers to an 8-2 win against South Dakota at JSC Stadium Wednesday. The Gophers (34-7) have won four in a row. South Dakota (15-22-1) lost for the first time in five games. The two teams met for the first time since 2011.

Two Records Fall in Softball Split with Creighton

A day after tying the South Dakota State single-season home run record, Devan Larsen set a new mark with her 11th long ball of the season in a 7-6, come-from-behind walk off win over Creighton. The Bluejays won the nightcap 9-0 in five innings in a game that Jessica Markanich set the SDSU career record for times hit by a pitch with 15.

Trautmann Named Louisville Slugger NFCA National Player Of The Week

The National Fastpitch Coaches' Association announced on Wednesday afternoon that Augustana senior pitcher/utility player Jenelle Trautmann has been named the Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week after an impressive performance in Augustana's six victories last week.
